about aromatherapy

aromatherapy

Throughout history Nature has often been called 'The Great Healer.' Aromatherapy promotes and harnesses the healing power of Nature, encourages the body's own natural healing ability in a profoundly gentle and enjoyable way.

Here are just a few of the ways that Aromatherapy can help you --

  • stimulates and strengthens the immune system
  • reduces stress and tension
  • especially good at treating emotional problems (including illness caused by negative emotions)
  • aids digestion (and treats digestive disorders)
  • promotes healing and regeneration
  • reduces inflammation and swelling
  • eases pain and discomfort
  • improves circulation
  • reduces water retention
  • nourishes and conditions the skin
  • treats skin disorders (including bacterial, fungal, allergic and congenital)
  • helps to stabilise various illnesses such as high or low blood pressure, diabetes and hormone imbalance
  • improves fertility

The use of Aromatherapy products (by a qualified Aromatherapist) are completely safe and can be used in conjunction with other types of treatments such as prescription drugs and homeopathic remedies.

As a qualified Aromatherapist, I am able to prepare a wide variety of Aromatherapy products to enhance your life and wellbeing.

After a brief consultation, each remedy can be 'prescribed' to your own unique specifications. You may also simply love the smell of a certain blend that you want to be able to use in your own home. It is both practical and a real treat to continue your healing treatment in the comfort of your own home by using my beautifully made and individually labelled Aromatherapy products --

  • massage oils
  • moisturising creams
  • face creams
  • body creams
  • bath oils
  • shampoos
  • conditioners
  • shower gels
  • aroma oils (suitable for vaporisers)
  • perfume oils
  • aroma sprays and spritzers

I use only the finest ingredients in my preparations, ensuring that the Essentials Oils, Base Oils and Creams are designated pure and of excellent quality (passed by the Aromatherapy Trade Council). I only use 100% plant-based oils, such as Sweet Almond Oil, Grapeseed Oil, Coconut Oil, Apricot and Peach Kernal Oil, Jojoba and Wheatgerm. The pure base cream that I use and recommend is natural and paraben-free, ensuring that there are no 'nasties' in your products.

Examples of the preparations I have previously made to assist clients --

  • relaxing/calming aroma oil (for oil vaporiser use in a dental practice)
  • pain and inflammation relief cream for an ankle sprain
  • cream to ease arthritic joints
  • pregnancy massage oil (to prevent stretch marks)
  • baby massage and bath oil
  • insomnia pillow spray (to help induce restful sleep)
  • dry skin cream
  • capillary cream (to reduce the redness of broken capillaries)
  • acne cream
  • depression massage and bath oil (to uplift the emotions)

about your aromatherapy sessions with holistic tanya

It is best to prepare for your Aromatherapy treatment by showering any oils, creams and make-up from your face and body first, as this will enable the oils to soak into the skin more effectively.

After a brief consultation to discover which areas of the mind, body or spirit are most in need of help, I will prepare a blend of oils and/or creams that are unique to you, which will be used during the course of your massage.

The rest of the Aromamassage session will be conducted in the same way as the Holistic Massage treatments. Remember however, that your sessions with me can be tailored to your needs.
